How do I set the chime on my wall clock?

I have a Schoolhouse Regulator Wall Clock. I have followed the directions to get it to chime right but it just keeps going and going. It will stop once in awhile for maybe a minute and then it starts again. I have let it go and go but how long do I need to?? Its starting to get annoying!

When setting the time,did you stop at each hour and let it chime? I would stop the clock after it chimes on the hour.The next day or if you can do the same time in the pm,start it up again.
